Where do I begin? I guess lets start with the invitation. When I received an invite to the Martha's Vineyard Food and Wine Festival for me and a guest a few months back, I was beyond giddy with excitement. Not only do I love fancy wine + gourmet food + beautiful Martha's Vineyard, I have been longing for a night out with my bestie. Our "older" girls are only four months and a day apart (Elle is almost a threenager) and Meredith just had her second beautiful baby girl 8 weeks ago. Yep, eight weeks! These mamas needed a night out!

We jumped on the Steamship Authority from Woods Hole and arrived in Oak Bluffs 45 minutes later. We had an hour until the BIG EVENT, so we headed to our favorite watering hole, The Lookout Tavern. After a glass of bubbly, we grabbed a cab to The Winnetu Resort, where the grand tasting was held.

The venue was set up in one of those magical white tents, and we were greeted with a fun MV Food and Wine Fest vino glass for all our tastings.

It was a bit overwhelming at first to figure out where to start, but we decided to just make our rounds, and try a bit of everything.

The selection of wines was unbelievable.

We ended up tasting some delish white wines (Sancerres and Sauvignon Blancs are my fave), rosés (especially from Provence) , and of course bubbly!

To balance all the fun drinks, we did not hold back on trying all the amazing dishes presented beautifully from some local Vineyard restaurants, as well as those on the Cape, and Boston.

Besides all the incredible food and wine, the atmosphere was my favorite part. You just knew that everyone was having a great time {especially us!}

We met a bachelorette party, a group of CrossFit ladies ready to eat, drink, and be jolly, connected with some fellow bloggers, and enjoyed chats with wine connoisseurs and restaurant owners and chefs.

There is no doubt that this will become an annual tradition. The best time to visit the Vineyard is actually in the fall when it quiets down, and the island is serene. You can find more information about coming to next year's Food and Wine Festival here {it's a multi-day event!} and you can plan your trip to the island here. As always, I'd love to help if you have any questions.
Cheers & see you next year!
