NYE Sparkler Cocktail

I love New Year’s Eve! Wait. Actually, I just love any excuse to drink some bubbly. When I was in my 20’s we definitely used to live it up on NYE. There was lots of dancing, lots of high heel wearing, and lots of champagne drinking. Some things have changed, and I have traded my dancing for the couch.... okay, I still have a little dance party in my living room on NYE, but the high heels have definitely been replaced by some cozy slippers. BUT the champagne drinking remains. So I thought I’d share my favorite bubbly cocktail with you all to celebrate the New Year. Or any day.

I’m a very very very visual learner, so here are some step by step instructions on how to make this simple but delicious St-Germain sparkler cocktail!

You’ll need these yummy ingredients:

-Bottle of bubbly (champagne, cava, or prosecco will all work)

-1/4 cup of St-Germain liqueur (it’s flavored with elderflower)

-1 or 2 lemons (if you love lemony flavor like  me, use 2)

-1 tablespoon of sugar

-1 cup of ice

Pour 1/4 cup of St-Germain liqueur into cup.

Pour St-Germain from cup into Cocktail Shaker.

Cut a lemon into half.

Squeeze juice of 1/2 lemon or 1 whole lemon (if you really like lemony flavor) into shaker. If you don’t have a citrus squeezer, you can just use your hands!

Grab a cup or ice.

Put ice into shaker, and SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE!

Then pour HALF the lemony St-Germain mixture through the strainer into two flutes (by the way, I bought these beauties at Home Goods yesterday for $3 a piece) and you’ll have some more leftover for two more cocktails.

And pour the bubbly to top off your glass.

Slice up some lemon, and sprinkle sugar on top {pour some sugah on me 🎶}.

Garnish your St-Germain sparkler with those sugary lemon wedges....

And ENJOY!

Cheers friends and Happy New Year! {I’m totally wearing leggings in that picture}.
