Oh Amsterdam. First let me say that I have never been so close to almost being pummeled by bicyclist 266 times. Seriously, it’s no joke. They are everywhere. They are also fashion statement in their own sense. It was fascinating to me to see these women dressed head to toe in Prada, swooshing by on their pristine white bikes. Then you’d have the hipsters in their my-dirty-jeans-came-that-way riding these vintage bikes that look like they could fall apart any minute. I could go on and on. The bikes are reason enough to go to Amsterdam.

The canals were as equally entertaining, more specifically, it was amusing to watch the cars try to parallel park on the very edge of what would be considered the street and “splish splash I’m in the canal”. Apparently cars and bikes are constantly being fished out of the canals, like daily.

The museums. Van Gogh. Enough said. I mean honestly, the museum is a beauty in itself, the guided tour inside was captivating, and the art work. Let’s just say sunflowers, irises, and almond blossoms. I could’ve stayed all day. My toddler had other plans. Thank God my parents were there, so we took turns running around the museum after the little one. She apparently isn’t a Van Gogh fan.

Ok, so here is the truth. I was not overly impressed by Dutch cuisine... although the beer was tasty! Maybe I was just getting to the end of my travels, where you know how you start craving home cooked meals? Or a medium black french vanilla hot coffee from Dunks?? Is that just me?

If you go, I highly recommend staying at the Park Hotel in Amsterdam. The rooms are spacious, and the bed was heavenly. They also had the best macaroons at the lobby bar! These are all the most important reasons when choosing a hotel, right?

Ok ok, it's also centrally located, with a ton on restaurants nearby, as well as a park, and it's a short walk to the museums. Across the street is the Blue Boat Company aka guided canal cruise with wine! It's so touristy, but so worth it! It was one of my favorite parts of the trip.

Well that's it! This wraps up our trip around Deutschland and beyond.
I hope ya’ll enjoyed traveling to Europe with me. Drop me a message to tell me your favorite travel destination, so that I can add it to my bucket list.
